In Medias Res

It's been a long time since the war between the Greeks and Trojans commenced. But at last it seems each side is pushing to end this war as soon as possible, victoriously. Of course as a God I have the privilege of helping determine the outcome in whichever way I like. Now I like to think I keep a good balance and avoid favoritism but there's two things that sway my decision making. First is the weight of their fate. Second is the manner in which they act and fight on the battlefield. Honor and courage go a long ways. For example, Agamemnon taking captive Briseis from his prized warrior Achilles. Agamemnon is too bull headed to think one man will make a difference, but it does and Achilles absence from fighting as a response to that allows the Trojans to gain momentum. The battle hasn't even begun yet though. Despite my wife/sister Hera supporting the Greeks, I was faced with a decision to help the Trojans based upon Agamemnon's actions. So I send him a fake lucid dream, where he believes he must attack Troy at once and the city will finally fall. Idiotically, the man testing the morale of his troops, tells them they're heading home. Not as Agamemnon had planned, everyone ran to the ships instead of being outraged by giving up the fight. Luckily, Odysseus intervened and stopped a rout by encouraging the troops, and they avoided a complete takeover.
