The Influence of the Gods

Lately the rest of the Gods all seem to feel it's okay to intervene in the battle amongst these mortal humans. Gods favoring each side are influencing almost every action, leaving none for the armies to decide themselves. Athena for one decided to allow Diomedes to have super strength and extraordinary power to discern Gods on the field of battle, and the ONLY god or goddess he could attack was Aphrodite. However, Diomedes abuses this power. He kills several Trojans, and defeats Aeneas, but Aphrodite must come to his rescue once more, and as told by Athena he attacks and wounds Aphrodite. Apollo now shows up to warn him of warring against the Gods. Diomedes then attacks Apollo as well breaching the agreement he made with Athena when given his power. Diomedes even went on to attack Ares, putting him out of action. I believe he deserved this injury though. Later in the battle with the Greeks driving the Trojans back toward the city, Hektor stops a rout, but the Greeks overwhelm the Trojans without any of the Gods interfering. Also, here's an issue I get throughout this war. At this point the Trojans are barely holding on, so they need help, and who do they turn to? Whenever the tide of battle isn't going the direction one would like, they come whining to me.  Nightfall ends an epic battle between the Trojan number one fighter, Hektor, and the Greek number two, Ajax, so each army returns to their camps before another long day of battle. Poseidon and I were watching the Greeks later that night as they burned their dead and built walls and a trench. Our plan: tear it down when the men leave (because it displeases poor Poseidon).
